Crafting while camping is always on our agenda.  Coming up with another project for the girls was simple with this fabulous crepe paper flower kit from eeBoo. The girls basically ripped into these kits before I could get enough pictures!

You can find these fantastic little kits in the eeBoo shop by clicking here: Arts & Crafts eeBoo Shop. eeBoo offers a number of amazing craft kits that are perfect for gift giving or Christmas presents. Make sure to take a minute to check out the variety of items they offer!

Paper Flowers, DIY Kid Kit, Girl Gift Craft, Summer Craft, Camping Craft

This is the kit and what it looks like, minus the wrapper. I am telling you the girls were excited about making these flowers and dove right in!

Purple Flower, Blue Flower, Pink Flower, Kid Craft, Crafts for Kids

Follow the instructions on the back of the package. It is really easy. Start by separating the pieces of crepe paper. They do cling together, so look carefully to make sure you have them pulled apart.

eeBoo Crafts, eeBoo Gifts

Layer the crepe paper colors in the order that you want. Fold the paper accordion style. Wrap a pipe cleaner around the folded crepe paper. Pull the crepe paper layers apart and open to finish up your flower.

Aren’t these flowers gorgeous. They look pretty in a vase too, or my kids were using them to play outside.

Have you played with any fun stamps lately? I have and my KIDS have. I found these fun rolling stamps by Funny Bone Muse at the New York Stationery Show and the company was kind enough to send us some stamps to play around with.

My kids have been rolling these stamps over everything. My daughter just rolled them onto the wooden bird house she is painting. They have gone a little wild with Rolli Stamps in our house! School has only been out for a little over a week and we have crafts components lying all over the table. Just ask my hubby, we don’t eat at the table, we (me and the kids) craft there! So today I took a little time to make some cards for upcoming events we have happening. It was so easy and fun to roll these little stamps across the paper and add some extras to create really simple, but fun cards.

Supplies:

  • Rolli Stamps
  • Blank Cards
  • Washi Tape
  • Markers
  • Alphabet Stamps (Mine are Studio G found at Michaels or JoAnn)
  • Scissors
  • Baker’s Twine

In today’s post I don’t really feel I need to do step-by-step directions for each of these cards. There are pretty simple and the key component is the Rolli Stamps. So if you want to have some stamping fun and make some cool paper projects and cards try out the Rolli Stamps. Also know the ink is permanent and I saw on the Rolli site that one customer used the stamps on a ceramic pot – check it out here. I am thinking we may have to buy some plain white coffee mugs and get our Rolli and put some designs down on the mugs. Great rainy day project for the kids!

Here are some close up pictures of the cards I made today.

I hope you take a few minutes to check out Rolli Stamps and their sister company Funny Bone Toys. You won’t be disappointed – their design style is amazing and their products beg to be used and played with!

My son is in love with all things Space. For his birthday he wanted to take a Space themed treat to school to celebrate. I came up with an idea to create the Space Shuttle out of Lifesavers and Hershey’s Kisses. For me this was better than baking cupcakes! It probably was better for the teacher too, who didn’t have to help a class of Kindergarteners unwrap their cupcakes and then clean up the frosting mess afterward.

Later this week I hope to post about the Solar System mobile we made and tell about his Space themed birthday party. So check back to see what cool space projects  you can make!

***NEW – I just added a separate download for a Rolo sized wrapper. See the free downloads below.

Space Party Treat

Supplies:

  • Lifesaver Rolls (I bought mine at Sam’s Club)
  • Hershey’s Kisses (at Sam’s Club)
  • Glue Dots
  • School Glue
  • White Paper
  • Color Printer
  • Silhouette Machine (optional)
  • Black Paper
  • Space Shuttle Treat Download

How To:

  1. Use a large glue dot to stick a Hershey’s Kiss to the top of each Lifesaver roll.
  2. Use a color printer to print out the Space Shuttle Treat Download and then cut out all the needed pieces. (If you have a Silhouette Cutter and Illustrator it will be easiest to download the file and open up the .pdf page of fins in Illustrator, then use black paper in your machine to cut out the fins.)
  3. Wrap the Space Shuttle paper around the Lifesavers and adhere the wrapper to itself by making a line of glue along the long edge and overlapping the ends of the paper. Hold in place for a few seconds to let it set, then put it aside to dry.
  4. Make a small fold on the long straight edge of each fin. Run a small line of glue along each (4) black line at the bottom of the space shuttle wrapper (see pic below) and adhere fins to wrapper. Hold in place for a few seconds and then put it aside to dry.
  5. Use as a treat at a space themed party or pass your Space Shuttles out at school on your birthday!

DIY Garland

I love the way this scalloped paper garland looks! This garland is so easy to create. I have seen lots of cute ones made from fabric, but that seemed like a lot of work to me. I came up with this easy idea to make one from patterned scrapbooking paper so it would look very similar to fabric. This garland is the perfect party accessories, it makes any room look festive when it is hung across the wall. This banner is so versatile you could use it for a birthday party, a baby shower or even a wedding shower! It would be cute with some paper letters attached to spell out the occasion.

How To | Paper Party Garland

Supplies:

  • 12×12 Patterned Paper
  • Bias Tape
  • Scalloped Edged Scissors
  • Glue
  • Large Bowl or Circle (for tracing)

How To:

  1. With a piece of patterned paper laid out, trace a large circle onto it. You can trace around the edge of a large bowl (that is what I did) or cut out a 12″ diameter circle template from a piece of paper.
  2. Cut out the large circle from your patterned paper and cut the circle in half.
  3. Repeat steps 1. and 2. until you have the desired amount of scallops.
  4. Use your scalloped edge scissors and trim along the curved edge of each scallop.
  5. Lay out your bias tape. Open up the edges of the bias tape and slide the straight edge of the paper scallop inside. Glue each scallop to the bias tape by adding glue along the top of the straight paper edge. Let dry.
  6. Hang your garland on the wall and get the party started!

If you are looking for a cute and easy card to make for Dad, here it is. I used my littlest ones handprint to make this cute owl.

The inside says:

“Owl always love you. Happy Father’s Day.”

I love it, what a cute keepsake. It will be a great reminder of how little her hand was at 18 months.

How To | Handprint Owl Card

Supplies:

  • Paper
  • Acrylic Paint (Tan, Brown, Green and Yellow)
  • Paint Brush
  • Paper Plate
  • Large Googly Eyes
  • Glue
  • Diaper Wipes

How To:

  1. Have your card all ready and lay it off to the side. Squirt some paint on a paper plate. Use your paintbrush to paint your child’s hand with acrylic paint. Hold their hand and press it in place on the front of the card. Slowly remove their hand. Use a diaper wipe if you have a small child and need to get the paint off their hand quickly!
  2. Paint your child’s pointer finger with yellow paint and have her make a finger print for the beak. Let the card dry.
  3. Use brown paint  or markers to draw branches and green to add leaves.
  4. Use glue to add googly eyes to your owl.
  5. Write a sweet message inside.

I’ve had this idea for using a handprint to make a bird kickin’ around in my head for awhile. I finally pulled out all the supplies to make this project with the kids yesterday. The kids love getting their hand painted and seeing their freshly made print on a piece of paper. Even Calista sort of cooperated, it’s hard to hold her little fingers together to make a good print.

We are giving our cards to Grandma for Mother’s Day. On the inside I am thinking of writing something like this:

I love you,

You love me,

I’ll always be your little chickadee.

Happy Mother’s Day
