EASY Chocolate Croissants

Now some of you may not know this about me, but I am not a "cooker" (Lorelei's word for baking).  Crafting all day, oh yes please! Cooking or baking, who me, I'll pass. That is not to say that I don't know how to cook or bake, I do. (Thanks Mom.) I just, well to put it bluntly, hate it.

So if you are like me and you want to do an easy baking project with your kids, this is for you! I saw this recipe in Real Simple Magazine back in 2008, been saving it ever since. Here is the link. (See I really don't want to bake.) My only change to the recipe is to add more chocolate chips to each one!

These are the directions I copied off of their website:

Makes 8 croissants| Hands-On Time: 05m | Total Time: 20m

  1. Heat oven to 375° F.
  2. Unroll the dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Place about 10 chocolate chips on the bottom third of each triangle and roll the dough up around the chocolate.
  3. Transfer the croissants to a baking sheet (lined with parchment paper, if desired, for easier cleanup). Bake until golden brown, 12 to 14 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

  1. This is a totally adorable activity. Love this idea and it gets everyone helping in the kitchen.
Your pictures are fun and your kids are such cuties. Pleasure to pop in and browse around.
Looking forward to seeing your class vids because I think I’ve already forgotten a few key points-lol.
